A report on methods of identifying protein adhesives in a paint layer. After calculating the quantitative relations of cistein and phenylalanin, characteristic amino acids, the optimal regulated system for hydrolisation of adhesive proteins was established. The quantities were determined by colourometric and spectrophotometric analyses. A sample of a mural painting from the monastery of cherepishki (bulgaria) was determined to be an egg medium.
