Abstract
Proton-induced x-ray emission (PIXE) analysis was used to determine the composition of soapstone artifacts, clay, and potsherds from South West Africa. Multivariate analysis was applied to detect groupings of similar samples. Empirical methods for dealing with missing data points and experimental errors of analysis are described. -- AATA
