The paper show the importance and value of the analytical archaeometric methods in the study of prehistoric pottery. A large-scale characterization's work has been undertaken on both two main Celtiberian wares from Soria's settlement sites: black coarse incised ware and wheeled orange painting fine ware, dated from II to I century B.C., using thin section, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) analyses. The recent application of this kind of techniques within a archaeologically pottery and laboratory control pieces of clay samples from the region, has enabled us to characterize: the two principal pottery types, the preliminary results of technology problems, the recognition of some possible intrarregional exchange contacts and the integration of pottery production in the socio-economic life of these Celtiberian communities.
