This paper presents one of the first advances in the study of specialized pottery production emergence in Celtiberian communities from the Upper Duero Valley at the end of Late Iron Age. This research is mainly based on the application of archaeometric characterization techniques either in the study of their ceramic materials or in the analysis of modern raw material samples. Thin-Section petrographic observations, X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Total Reflection X-Ray Fluorescence (TXRF) and multivariant statistical techniques has been used as analytical tools. The work involves the apprach to pottery production patterns from the point of view of their socio-economical and cultural importance. With this framwork as a basis, a highly specialized mode and sequence of production has been infered in this kind of manufactures. In addition, the possibility to locate a production center in one of the settlement sites under consideration is suggested.
