Describes the <i>strappo</i> method of removal of murals of Bagh Caves, District Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, India which had become highly fragile. The continuous percolation of water through the ceiling of the caves and the falling of stone boulders made preserving the paintings in their original place very risky. The paintings were safely removed from the walls of cave No. 4 and transferred to canvas.
