Abstract
Calcareous stone samples were exposed to environments of HF and/or SO2 to evaluate weathering changes. Five weathering conditions taking into consideration synergetic effects of additional pollutant (secondary) products, varying humidity and temperature conditions as well as photochemical reactions were used.Relative humidity of the simulated atmosphere was cited as the dominant factor in the alteration morphology produced in the tests. The synergetic effects of HF & SO2 combination are greater and of a different nature than either alone. -- AATA
