Abstract
The ageing of nylon yarns can be defined as diminishing ability of the yarns to be dyed due to the reaction of amine end groups to atmospheric contaminants like sulfur dioxide, ozone, and nitrogen oxides, while yarn configuration, polymeric microstructure, and end group blocking can provide diffusion resistance, sealing nylon yarn in plastic bags and solid boxes is recommended. Procedures are suggested. -- AATA
