Finds at archaeological sites -- such as shipwrecks and road and bridge constructions -- tax the facilities which are committed to treat the materials. In Denmark, numerous tests were undertaken to determine the feasibility of maintaining a burial site for wet archaeological wood; in Vallensbaek such a depot has been established. Subsequent tests have indicated that the condition of the wood can be better maintained in such storage than in holding tanks.
