Abstract
The performance of various silicone water repellents (Wacker 190S and Wacker 090S, Silak M11) was tested on samples of Nietulisko and Zerkowice sandstones and compared with that of silicone rubber Elastoil E-41 (Wacker). Tests included water absorption, of the treated stones before and after freezing-thawing tests. The paper reports results showing that the products have a comparable hydrophobic action, but differ in frost resistance. Only Wacker 190S, Wacker Elastosil E-41 and Silak M11 are aduisable for sandstone hydrophobization. Data tables.
