Abstract
The corrosion behavior in 16% HCl acid of aluminum containing up to 0.4% tin was investigated as a function of tin content and heat treatment. The corrosion effects were determined by means of optical, scanning, and transmission electron microscopy. The change in surface and boundary corrosion rate, and the different corrosion morphologies were attributed to the distribution of tin in aluminum matrix, and the local cell action. -- AATA
