Abstract
The authors illustrate, with the help of a few examples, the general policy of conservation of prehistoric mural paintings. Outlines the theoretical studies: the black frieze of the Pech Merle cave and the environment of the Fonte de Gaume cave; describes intervention and protective maintenance, installation, and equipment.
