Abstract
The Lark Quanry Environmental Park, near the geographical center of Queensland, Australia, was excavated in 1976-1977. Between 1976 and 1979, many of the fossil trackways suffered serious environmental damage and vandalism. The physical and chemical characteristics of the site (structure of footprints, mineralogy, water absorption, weathering) are described. The 1983 treatment of the site included gluing broken pieces back into place with Dow Corning neutral cure silicone RTV 1080, coating the trackways with Silicone 18, and infilling the crackswith a mixture of RTV 1080 and washed white quartz sand.
