Abstract
The technical properties of wood that should be included in a curriculum are wood structure, shrinkage and movement, timber drying, biodeterioration and other forms of deterioration, wood preservation, and methods of treatment. Inspection of cultural properties requires special skills and knowledge of appropriate treatments, which are conditioned by understanding the properties of the wood.
