Abstract
Favorable environmental conditions which encourage the proliferation of wood damaging insects, particularly termites, are identified. A brief history of wood preservatives which have been used to control termites is provided. Several projects undertaken by the Central Archaeological Laboratory, Lahore Fort, are discussed; precautions to ward against termite infestation, specifically around buildings, are also listed. See also AATA 22-201 for book.
