Abstract
This is last installment in a series of bibliographies dealing with patinas on metal artifacts. It covers the literature on tin, lead, and their alloys from 1873 to 1964. The corrosion chemistry of tin appears to be relatively simple, the only identified products being stannous oxide, stannic oxide, and stannous sulfide. The mineralogy is also simple. Lead, in contrast, seems to yield a variety of corrosion products, like zinc. Much remains to be done on the corrosion chemistry of lead before the study of naturally-occurring patinas on lead artifacts can begin to provide useful archaeological or historical information. Author index for parts II and III follows the abstracts.
