Abstract
This short note reports on research comparing synchrotron radiation to conventional sources as to uses and effects. A possible application to the study of corrosion phenomena is presented. A storage ring or specially built synchrotron-radiation facility began operating in France in 1987. Others are planned. The bibliography refers the reader to sources on the subject. -- AATA
