A brief summary of the methods of data presentation and analyses recommended by the authors for lead isotope provenance studies. Using published data from the Aegean region, the results of the traditional methods are then compared with the result obtained from the recommended methods. A discussion of some problems with lead isotope-based archaeological conclusions is followed by an outline of possible future directions. 3 figures, 15 bibliographic references.
