Abstract
The salient features of three reports on wood conservation presented at the same meeting are contrasted. Waterlogged wood involves two problems, removal of the excess of water and dimensional stabilization. Fixed wooden structures (especially exterior) require protection against insect and fungal attack. Movable interior woodwork may involve treatment of cracking and warping.
