After reviewing the articles on monochrome sculptures by Johannes Taubert, a close investigation performed by the author himself is presented. Correlations to the work of V. Stoss and T. Riemenschneider are put forward. The author describes the so-called monochrome polychromy and sculptural surface of V. Stoss regarding different mediums of stone and wood. An explanation is offered why V. Stoss dispensed with polychromy on purpose. -- AATA
