The preserved contracts for the construction and the repair of the organ in the Cathedral of St. Tripun date from 1488, 1518, 1554, and 1600. Besides documenting the fact that Kotor was among the Yugoslav towns which possessed a very early musical tradition, the musical instrument itself is documented: the year of construction and organists, and details of the building of the organ itself. Hence it is possible to reconstruct the stages of the development of organ-building in Yugoslavia from the 15th to the 17th century. -- AATA
