The second meeting of the Stone Conservation Group took place in Erfurt on November 11, 1972. The secretary of the group, Dr. Beeger, Dresden, spoke about the international scope of the field of stone conservation and of the group's goals and purposes, which include petrographical and technological investigations regarding the sandstones often used in East Germany and possibilities for their conservation. Also discussed was the production of a catalogue of endangered natural stone objects of cultural importance in East Gennany. R. Möller spoke about endangered stone objects in the jurisdiction of the Erfurt workshop of the Institute for Conservation of Cultural Monuments and also about a catalogue of the state of preservation of objects in the region of Thuringia. -- AATA
