Abstract
Mineralogical analysis of Roman amphorae found in southern Germany proved that the urns were manufactured in southern Italy front clays derived from volcanic rocks. Four clearly distinguishable types of pottery could be identified according to these criteria: the size, the number, the shape, and the composition of the temper. -- AATA
