The adverse effects of sunlight, fluctuations in temperature and humidity and high relative humidity on glass are described. Specific advice is provided on handling and packing glass safely for shipment, and on the practical storage of glass in museums. Curators are told how to wash, tinse and dry glass and how to remove stains and deposits. While methods of repair and restoration are described, curators are advised to consult a conservator.
