Abstract
In recent years, a lot of Tang tombs have been excavated in Chang-an suburb by Shaanxi archaeological institute, in which many different kinds of hairpins were unearthed including gilding silver hairpins, silver hairpins, gilding copper hairpins, and some pieces of leaf-like copper hairpins. Because of the reference about metallograph of gold and silver ware are very seldom after conservation and restoration, each kind of specimens was collected and SEM was conducted. The chemical composition and metallograph can provide useful information for studying other gold and silver objects.
