Abstract
The possible causes of moisture penetration in the walls are discussed. Rain water discharged by faulty gutters or percolating in masonry is one of the main sources of humidity. Capillary rise is variable with seasons and not easily distinguished from capillary adsorption and rain correlation of moisture measurements with rain cycles. Use of capacity meters for moisture survey.
