Abstract
Appropriate absorption bands are chosen for calcite, dolomite, magnesite and gypsum allowing determination of the molar fraction of gypsum. Analysis on 11 statues in a public garden repeated three times in 4 years shows evolution of gypsum content of the surfaces.
