The history of a Roman ship dating to the time of Sulla, which sunk off Tunisia, carrying Greek cargo is given. A history of its discovery and salvaging efforts since 1907 follow. In the 1950's, the boat and its cargo were excavated and are on display in a museum in Tunisia today. The boat decomposed badly but many of the art objects from Greece are in good condition. -- AATA
