Abstract
This article is based on a presentation made by Dr. Arganbright at the 1983 WAAC meeting. Dr. Schniewind and Dr. Arganbright have written a book with the same title. The authors discuss the purposes of coatings as stabilizing and protective agents. They go on to discuss the permeability of various plastic films and coatings, and the moisture-excluding effectiveness of some coatings. They briefly mention warping and its control.
