Abstract
The progress of the conservation of waterlogged wood, during the period 1981 to 1984, is briefly reviewed. The most notable event was the raising of the Tudor warship Mary Rose, off the south coast of England. This marked the appearance of probably the largest scale conservation project involving waterlogged wood treatment since the Wasa was raised in Sweden twenty years ago. The Working Group is growing rapidly and continues to sponsor special conferences and publications. The Newsletter continues to be published. See also AATA 21-1632.
