One of the most reliable procedures for the detection of cystic fibrosis (CF) is the sweat test, in which sodium, chlorine and potassium concentrations observed in CF patients has been found to be two to five times the concentrations found in normal individuals. There is the possible use of the sodium concentration in fingernails as an indicator using activation analysis. Research results are reported in this article.
