Abstract
The range of elements which can be detected in rocks, minerals, and meteorites has been extended by use of three methods of neutron activation analyses. In the first method short neutron irradiation (30 sec. -2 min.) of samples and standards followed by rapid transfer to the counting system permits the detection of Al, Mn, Na, V, Ti, Ca, and in certain cases Mg, in rocks.
