Abstract
This article examines the aims and means of the Nationale Forschungsprogramm 16 (NFP 16 -- National Research Program), focusing on the preservation of cultural assets in Switzerland. It takes a look at the particular relations between researcher, conservator, and restorer, modified by the emergence of new scientific methods of analyses such as archaeometry. It argues the need for a new means of communication amongst restorers and monument conservators. -- AATA
