Abstract
The most famous bronze in the Antikensammlung of the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna is the lifesize statue of the so-called Jüngling vom Magdalensberg. In 1983 the Antikensammlung started a project together with some special restorers and natural scientists in order to clear some open questions in connection with this statue. The result was surprising: the bronze in Vienna is not the original which is said to have been found in 1502 on the Madgalensberg (Carinthia), but a Renaissance copy of the 16th century the original itself is still lost.
