The article describes the conservation treatment of a Magnasco whose dimensions had been altered and which had been extensively overpainted in a previous restoration. In the course of cleaning and relining, several discoveries regarding the structure and artist's technique were made which throw new light on the painting's provenance and former restoration and which strongly reconfirm the attribution toMagnasco. -- AATA
