Shows the scientific basis of these techniques, focusing on the time of year at which sap is collected, the water content of the sap and of the wooden substrate to which the <irushi</i> is applied, and the type of fiber used as a base for the * 2urushi*1, all of which influence the properties of the dried film. -- AATA
