Technical errors such as a line left by a tiled-off casting fin froma process invented in the 14th century A.D., a misplaced hole in the mane for harness straps, an unnecessary hole on the top of the head for a <i>meniscus or spike to keep off pigeons, caused, the authenticity of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Greek 5th century B. C. bronze horse to be questioned. Points of magnetic attraction which coincided with the location of many bronze plugs covering holes made by sand piece-mold process gave a chart of the internal struction of the horse. Iridium 192 X-rays revealed the interior cavity filled with a sand core and the main iron wire running through the horse. The horse is now believed to have been made in Paris circa 1918-32. -- AATA
