Abstract
The use of an S-1 response infra-red image-converter for the ex-amination of panel paintings is described. It is shown that satisfactory results may be obtained with this equipment, which is easy to operate. The examination of underdrawings, retouchings and penti menti is briefly discussed. -- AATA
