Abstract
The F content in buried bones increases slowly with time and furnishes a method for the estn. of their age. The technique of anal. by neutron activation has been applied for the detn. of F in these materials, thus allowing nondestructive measurements to be made on the specimens; 14 examples are given whose ages had been detd. previously by radiocarbon. The bones of the Holocene period and of the end of the Pleistocene period are clearly recognizable and even in the Holocene period some differences can be noticed. Teeth reveal a F content inferior to that of the corresponding bones. A skull, presumed primitive, found in Caracas is in fact É46 2000 years -- AATA
