Abstract
The products of the pyrolysis of selected polymers are analyzed with infrared spectroscopy. The products of pyrolysis demonstrate some features of polymer deterioration such as unzipping, random chain cleavage and the elimination of a small molecule. The simplified method for pyrolysis -- IR analysis given here -- is amendable for most polymers. -- AATA
