Abstract
Results obtained by investigations of an early eneolithic mine in the Rudna Glava enable a reconstruction of the oldest mining technology in the south-east part of Europe. The data obtained by investigations of the Al Bunar eneolithic mine in the south part of Bulgaria are very useful in this sense. The early eneolithic mine in the Rudna Glava was used by the members of the Vinca group, namely by its central variants along the Morava River. These old mining operations were carried out during the transit epoch from the older to the younger age of the Vinca group (about 3500 - 3000 years B. C. with a possibility that these dates are older) and they represent the oldest activity of this kind in the Balkans as well as in the south-east part of Europe.
