The aim of this thesis is to characterize Roman ceramics produced in Augst, Baden, Bern and Avenches, with the purpose to present, first of all, the differences between them, and secondly between the Roman ceramics produced in other European centers. For that purpose groups of shards recovered from these four locations were studied from a chemical, physical and mineralogical point of view (294 chemical and mineralogical analyses).
