The e.s.r. spectra obtained by irradiation of dyes of different chemical structures in mylar film was found to be due to the dye alone. The results show that charge transfer photoconductivity is involved when a dye is exposed to light on an inert polymer substrate and that the extent of dye fading may be related to the mobility of the charge carrier through the textile substrate. -- AATA
