Abstract
This is a report issued in 1974 from the American Society for Testing Materials regarding file folders for storage of permanent records. This specification covers file folders used in the storage of permanent or semi-permanent records and documents. It has been shown that permanence is at least an approximate function of the pH of an aqueous extract of the paper. Three pH levels, reflecting three levels of permanence are specified.
