Abstract
The possibilities of application of the Weisz ring-oven method to the analysis of pigments and minerals are shown by an example. For a qualitative or semi-quantitative analysis of an inorganic material, a minute sample of 1-2 muq is dissolved and transferred to a piece of filter paper which is attached to the oven. A washing liquid, normally an acid, is carefully brought to the center of the spot. The dissolved material moves away from the center to concentrate precisely over the heated ring. By means of the chemical reaction it is possible to determine the elements present in the ring. -- AATA
