Abstract
The author describes a modification of his method (see AATA 24-644) of freeze-drying waterlogged wood. Details are given of the freeze-dryer, the overall cost of the process, and the treatment: this includes preliminary soaking in aqueous polyethylene glycol (PEG) solution and wrapping the object in 50% PEG solution soaked bandages during the freeze-drying.
