Abstract
The treatment of a contemporary work of art by Liz Magor is presented. The work consists of 53 jars of preserved fruits and vegetables on a wooden shelf unit. Treatment involved the replacement of fluid in the jars with a benzoic acid solution, and resealing of the lids, in order to retard but not arrest the natural deterioration. An investigation into food processing technology, and consultation with the artist are described.
