Abstract
An examination of the canon of proportions as applied to faces in Egyptian art and the basis for a system of metrology as proposed by E. Iverson (Canon and proportions in Egyption Art, Warminster, 1975). The author believes this system of metrology disagrees with the evidence of skeletal remains and also postulates a subdivision of the grid into fifths rather than thirds or quarters. -- AATA
