Abstract
The use of infrared thermography for detecting air and water-filled blisters and localized corrosion at the coating/metal interface is described; deteriorated areas appear as varying grey levels on the cathode-ray tube. The analogue thermographic image may be digitized and enhanced by using a video camera and microprocessor, facilitating quantitative information on the extent and location of damaged areas, etc. -- AATA
