Abstract
The siren attachment, of unknown provenance, is dated stylistically to the last quarter or last half of the 8th century BC. Elemental analyses of two samples by the PIXE method, and metallographic study of a cross-section, indicated an unworked cast bronze of about 10% tin. Analyses of 14 other bronze siren attachments are presented for comparison and these various results are discussed. -- AATA
