Abstract
A study of two sets of chairs which are believed to be manufactured by Hains compares these pieces with known works. The Lyman chairs were re-covered in 1882 but the original upholstering is fully documented. The Craigie-Longfellow group was similarly upholstered. Structural features shared by both sets of chairs are described. -- AATA
